Welcome to West County!

We are lucky enough to reside in a place on this planet providing us with an abundance of natural resources, and the people with the artistic ability to craft these resources into wonderful creations.

Thomas grew up just north in Humboldt County in a household that was an integral part of the community. Both parents retired as tenured professors at what is now Cal Poly Humboldt. His father taught wildlife, and his mother molded the minds of future educators. This provided Thomas with an appreciation for the world, and the importance of educating ourselves and others how to live responsibly, so future generations can thrive. Lisa grew up on a farm in Iowa, learning the importance of sustainability, living off the farm, and supporting local farming communities. When moving to California in 2010, Lisa immediately knew she had moved home.

We are excited to meet and get to know you.

During the summer of 2024, while living in a cultural desert outside Sacramento, we decided to transition into full time RVers. We had lived in Sonoma before, and although we had left Sonoma, Sonoma never left us. We decided to move into a small one bedroom apartment in Forestville to downsize and acclimate to, well, less. Think of it as living in and RV practice.

Soon, fond memories came flooding back as we rediscovered the delightful hidden gems of West County. We once again become enraptured with the gnarled coastline, towering Redwoods, fog baked vineyards, and above all, the people. We soon realized we didn’t just want to live here but needed to be rooted in the community. The idea of Local…ish was born. Whether using grapes for wine, goats milk for soaps, or seashells for earrings, at Local…ish, we are excited to showcase local Sonoma artisans, small wine, beer, and cider producers.

Emma Ambrose

Emma Ambrose is a Sonoma County native who struggled with chronic migraines since childhood. They pinpointed synthetic fragrances as a major trigger. Her mission is to craft candles for the scent-sensitive crowd.

Kim Dow

Kim, a longtime resident of Forestville, enjoys a long career in branding, packaging, events, and publication design as DowHouse - but her love of colors and patterns, of pretty pieces of paper and fabric, and of gifting notions and upcycling are additionally fulfilled by her Kim Dow Made This side quest.

Kristin Aldrich

Kristin studied fashion design and enjoys working with their hands. Now they feel privileged designing timeless pieces for your home and garden. Every piece carries the essence of thoughtful craftsmanship, blending artistry with sustainability, leaving an everlasting impact for generations without leaving a footprint. As a lover of the ocean, Kristin is committed to a sustainable business. All products are eco-conscious and can be repurposed. Water and Stone Sonoma’s mission is to create handcrafted unique sustainable concrete pieces using a custom blend of environmentally responsible materials.

Gloria Rubio

MorninGloria's founder, Gloria Rubio , was born in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. As a little girl, she fell in love with learning the beadwork of her ancestors. Now as an adult, she has fused those traditional beading learnings with new techniques to create modern jewelry and accessory designs with a balance of culture and style. Gloria loves color, tacos, flowers, and the vibrancy of her Latina heritage. These are reflected in her creations. Thank you for supporting a Latina-owned mamapreneur small business!

Nicole Winfield

Nicole is a passionate creator with a deep love for the ocean and coastal landscapes. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, she crafts beautiful wind chimes and jewelry, carefully designing each piece with natural stones and materials that exude an ethereal quality. Her work reflects a commitment to nature's beauty, blending artistry with the earth's raw elements.

Monique Fournier

Sugar & Saltz Body Co. started from a love of making quality body and skin care products for loved ones. As a native Californian, Monique Fournier enjoys access to our multicultural events, our natures wonders and quality products. Monique works full time in the medical industry and embraces the opportunity to share their products with those who love natural body and skin care.

Patricia Campbell

Patricia Campbell is an artist, mother, wife, and retired teacher who has lived in Sonoma County for 30 years. She studied art at Indiana University and continue to enjoy exploring and creating art. All of her pieces are one-of-a-kind originals. She creates with acrylics and acrylic paint pens on canvas. Her inspiration came from a tutorial creating abstract angels.She also enjoys painting abstract portraits.

Tyler Nutter

Tyler Nutter is a local woodworker who hand carves all his goods with just an ax and a knife. He has a vast background in trees, with everything from a 4 year degree in forestry, planting trees for the USFS, and powerline inventories. He even ran a small tree company for 7 years. All this experience has led him to find his real pursuit in life, which is crafting wooden goods and teaching people the skill. Wood is good!!
